Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women

We Belong to Decolonial Systems is a program of the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (CSVANW) that seeks to address sexual violence in tribal communities in New Mexico by centering the voices of those most impacted by gender-based violence. CSVANW uses survivors’ voices to shape conversations and generate cultural power to shifts western norms about gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, trans, and gender-non-conforming people. CSVANW is leaning into the traditions of their ancestors as storytellers to shift narratives about sexual violence. The sacred stories of survivors will be used to support resilience, transcend survival, and support healing justice.
